A Long Search For Free Cell Phones on the Web

Okay, so here is my situation:
I want to find a free cell phone offer to replace my expiring contract with AT&T. I’m considering switching my wireless service to Verizon or possibly T-Mobile. I am looking for a smart phone (Motorola Droid or Blackberry) that is offered free. (with activation of the new plan, of course). After all, just search Google for free cell phones and you’ll find that there are over 93 million results! Well, after doing a few searches myself, it became quite obvious that there are a LOT of different choices from scores of websites advertising these deals. The number of discount offer available through the internet makes it very difficult to compare them objectively.
In spite of spending a lot of time (approximately 120 minutes) I trimmed my list of online wireless retailers down to a small handful of dealers after researching cell phone deals online. Reputable retailers include those similar to what you find in a store such as Wirefly.com, LetsTalk.com and Amazon.com, as well as some of the big box retailers like BestBuy and RadioShack. Unfortunately, among the many website that tout this the majority of them are affiliate sites that serve only to redirect your business towards of the major name providers. (like Wirefly and LetsTalk). “800 mobiles”, “you nevercall”, and “bestincellphones” are among the many affiliate website names. Many of these sites offer free cell phones, but you really finish the order by one of the biggest names in the end.
Which wireless company to go with?
Most of the cell phone carriers in the United States are decent in terms of their wireless coverage, but some people say Verizon Wireless and AT&T are the best. My objective is to obtain a fair free cell phone, regardless of the service provider or manufacturer. AT&T has smart phones with built-in QWERTY keyboards (either slide out or flip out) and touchscreen features, these phones are available on a lot of fantastic deals and in many cases are free. The ideal configuration would be to have a touch screen and a full keyboard with buttons. In addition, Verizon’s deals seemed really intriguing. There are a couple of different options, as they carry the Droid as well as some fantastic Blackberry phones that wont cost you a penny.
I decided on a plan with Verizon Wireless that offered me a free Blackberry Curve and I placed the order through Wirefly. I will get back to you in the future to let you know how the results of my search for free cell phones turned out.
